Keys Zuna performs somewhere between electro-soul-funk and acid-funk (remembering of acid-jazz). This highly inflamable sound is lit up by the warm, beautiful voice of keyboards girl : Kiala Ogawa, and stunned around by the syncopating guitar-beats-bass trio of her mates. Kiala’s singing has been nursed by afro-beat from the cradle since her dad is Fela Kuti’s guitar player. Ferdinand (guitar) and Hugo (beats), friends since school, have grown up influenced by classic rock’n roll and old school rap until they found a common taste for Gorillaz and Daft Punk.
On his side, Jimmy was born with a bass in his hands since his father was a bassman himself. They release their fisrt EP during summer 2015. Keys Zuna (Kizuna means link in japanese) got their stripes in many festivals (Diamant Vert, Copacobana, La Note Bleue), they also won a springboard award (Give me five). During these two last years they prepare their first album. More mature and more ambitious, it will be release in spring 2018 on Cascade Records. This first LP in one piece their craving for composing, for new experiences and for never doing twice the same thing.

Au printemps 2013, quatre musiciens, amis de longue date, sont rattrapés par une évidence, celle de jouer ensemble. Le groupe est né : Keys Zuna.Composé d’une chanteuse soul, d’un beatmaker hip-hop, d’un guitariste jazz et d’un bassiste funk, leurs influences vont de Funkadelic, Jill Scott, à Gangstarr en passant par John Scofield. Du aux racines japonaise de la chanteuse, certains aspects du groupe sont teintés d’univers nippon. Son nom en particulier trouve son origine dans le mot « kizuna », signifiant le lien. En évolution permanente, les sonorités éclectiques de Keys Zuna, oscillent entre un passé révolu et un futur inattendu. Après les promesses suscitées par la sortie de son premier clip « How You Feel » à l’été 2014 et des concerts qui ont suivi (La Bellevilloise, Les Petites Gouttes, L’Alimentation Générale), le groupe enregistre leur premier EP (Dance with the Moon) à l’été 2015.
Un an plus tard, ils gagnent le tremplin « Give Me Five » leur permettant l’aide au réseau MAP. Ces premiers pas leurs ont permis de se forger une réelle identité et d’être programmé dans différents festivals tel que le Diamant Vert (Clermont Ferrand), Culture Au Quai (Paris), La Note Bleue (Monaco), Copacobana (Gand). Un désir commun est né : prélever des harmonies et des rythmes de styles musicaux variés, pour produire une musique plurielle et moderne. Ainsi, depuis deux ans, ils préparent leur second projet. Plus mature, et plus ambitieux, ce dernier sera disponible au printemps 2018 chez Cascade Records.
