Nicolas Morant alias Nikitch is a musician with a rich and unique
path. A classical musician at first, then he becomes a producer and
has sharpened his language and developed influences amid
various jazz, electro and trip hop bands. His music, which is tinged
with footwork and trap, rapidly gets support from artists such as
Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson and Cid Rim, as well as from
labels like Brownswood, Château Bruyant, Soulection and now he’s
preparing an album for 2016 with Cascade Records.

A few words on the release La Volta / Arps :

These two songs were composed on the same move : the idea was
here to construct a musical speech on an harmonic idea, then
to use all the other elements in order to enhance the idea and
to give her the final form she has. A kind of story where the
melodic side win against the fatness of drums.

Nicolas Morant alias Nikitch est un musicien au parcours riche et
singulier. Musicien classique puis ensuite producteur, il affute son
propre langage et ses influences au sein de plusieurs formations
jazz, électro ou trip hop. Sa musique, teintée de footwork et de
trap, trouve rapidement le soutien d’artistes tels que Laurent
Garnier, Gilles Peterson, Lefto, ainsi que des labels
Brownswood, Soulection, Chateau Bruyant et prépare un nouvel
album pour 2016 avec Cascade Records. Une dance-music fraiche,
mélancolique et addictive.

Quelques mots sur la sortie :

Ces deux morceaux ont été composés dans le même geste : l'idée
était ici de développer un discours autour d'une idée harmonique,
et de se servir de tout les autres éléments afin de l'habiller et de
lui donner un format. Ici, l'aspect mélodique l'emporte sur la
dictature du rythme.
